"Build a Trail, Leave a Legacy"

The High Knoll Trailmaster weekend is scheduled each spring on the Blue Ridge Scout Reservation. Units from across the council are invited for a weekend of conservation training and practice. Programs will include trail construction and maintenance; woods tool skills and safety; conservation awards and programs; information on the Blue Ridge Scout Reservation and the conservation committee; Maps, compass, and GPS; and Leave no trace.

Who can participate?

This event is designed for older boys; however, units are invited to bring their new scouts along for skills training while older scouts and adults participate in the Trailmaster Program. This event is not appropriate for Cub Scout Units.

Housing?

Campsites, Adirondacks, and cabins are available on Friday and Saturday nights.

Equipment?

Weather is uncertain in March so be sure your scouts bring waterproof boots, warm clothing, and rain gear. Troops are responsible for their own meals during the weekend. Since your group may end up on the trail, we recommend planning a packable lunch for Saturday. For the Trailmaster Program, Long pants, work gloves, and a water bottle are recommended.

Recognition?

Participants in the High Knoll Trailmaster Program are invited to earn the Trail Conservation Award.
